MARC STONE’s summer 2011 transfers the past to a present with a tribute to Rick Blane’s trench in «Casablanca».

The trench coat was developed as an alternative to the soldiers heavy serge greatcoats worn by the British. Their original role as part of an army officer’s uniform lent the trench coat a businesslike respectability, whilst fictional hero Humphrey Bogart’s Rick from Casablanca kept the coat in the public eye.

The generally slim silhouette is in the limelight, featuring waist-hugging suits and refined shirts with unexpected details. Loose knitwear and shirts in lightweight cottons are used to create a modern look combined with jeans and shorts in dyed and washed denim.

The spotlight definitely pans on the delicate leather jackets and accessories – perfect for an understated yet exclusive look.

MARC STONE is using the newest Nano-technology. Treatments created for highly water-, oil- and soil-repellence to give an excellent wash resistance. The results is a high wellness factor for travelling with the natural softness of the textile.

Rick Blane’s trench spiced with a hint of future, is translated of the head designer Marc Stone into modern-day Menswear.
